Danielle Harlan was born in Sterling, Colorado on December 12, 1967.  She was admitted to the Bar of Kentucky in 1992 and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, as well as all State Courts in Kentucky. Danielle received her undergraduate degree from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa (B.A., 1989, Magna Cum Laude) with majors in Political Science and French.  She received her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., 1992, Cum Laude), where she was on the staff of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics.

Danielle was in-house counsel with Island Creek Coal Company and a construction bond claim attorney with Great American Insurance Company and has worked at several Lexington law firms.  Her practice areas include complex commercial litigation, mineral law, construction law, and contracts/business transactions.  Danielle has a passion for disaster relief.  She led several trips to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and went to Haiti after the devastating earthquake there in 2010.  Danielle enjoys knitting, reading, studying French, and all-too-infrequent gatherings with college friends, as well as traveling and spending time with her son.
